The Secret
History of the Blue Pig
Once upon a time (about 100 years
ago, to be exact) on the top the highest hill in Medina County,
beside a stream of the clearest water, there lived a pig.
A tiny pig.
A tiny blue pig.

Long ago, just like today, most
pigs were pink. And big - from munching apple peels and old
potatoes; ends of meat and cold oatmeal; all the leftover food
from a household.
But the tiny blue pig didn't eat
food. He swallowed money. He ate gold coins and copper; old
tin and ancient silver. He fed on the coins of the realm and
while He didn't actually grow in size and shape, He grew heavy
in worth and value.
The people of the forest tried
to catch the tiny blue pig. They put out fabulous cheeses and
delectable meats; sugared fruits and sweet almond pastries.
But the tiny blue pig would have none of it. He jingled through
the wildflowers, dancing through the pines of the Black Forest,
gobbling up the coins that would come across her path. And while
He never grew bigger, He grew ponderous with wealth. And the
people of the forest never caught her.
So we give you a tiny blue pig
of your own.
He's a reminder of the magic
that happens when you save, even if it's just a little bit at
a time. He's a reminder of your DirectSave Account, which like
the tiny blue magic pig, takes in your coin of the realm each
month, and grows heavy with wealth. |
